statement

An artist is alone during the process of creation. Whether in music, literature, or visual art, the artist’s expression is perhaps the only outlet to a personal inquiry.

Reading Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s thoughts on “imagination” and “perception”, I found that an artist needs both to work. Imagination is the lack; perception is th embodiment. Art is the embodiment of the lack.

Like many other artists, my work is the manifestation of a personal inquiry.
